4 notes worth keeping.
AudioPen rewrites what you say into polished text, Whisper Memos emails each memo to you, and Spitball keeps a raw English transcript with the original audio on your iPhone. A comparison built from each company's own pages.
Otter's own site describes a meeting assistant with live transcription, speaker identification and summaries, stored in the cloud. A voice-notes app like Voice Memos or Spitball is built for quick personal thoughts. Here's how to choose, with sources.
Voice Memos is enough for plain recordings. When it isn't, the right alternative depends on the need: Otter for meetings, AudioPen or Whisper Memos for AI-processed notes, Notes for audio beside text, and Spitball for quick thoughts kept on your iPhone.
Voice Memos suits plain or long recordings, Notes keeps audio inside a written note, and Spitball saves short thoughts with a transcript, the original audio and optional context. A sourced, side-by-side comparison, with a pick for each situation.
